Jordan has finally got around to starting on his new truck. We will be following the progress of the new truck being transfered from a farm ute to an extreme tourer, capable of hitting the hardest tracks around, competing in comps and being a great camping and expedition vehicle.
Jordan is starting with an un registered ex-farm ute from QLD. It is a 1996 Nissan Patrol. It has the 4.2 litre non turboed diesel engine, and the suspension is full coils all round, giving him plenty of options for suspension work and upgrades.

Here is the ute as it started.


 

  

To start the build up the ute has been stripped down, with all the interior pulled out and bonnet off. This gives plenty of room for the work needed in the engine bay. Some of the things which needed to be addressed on the patrol were, minor rust, cracks in the floor, tidy up all the wiring, clean the engine bay, interior clean etc.

More work has been done on the ute, and hopefully it will be ready for roadworthy soon.

Soon to come for the ute is;
   
    Convert to bucket seats instead of bench seats,
    New headlights which maybe converted to HID,
    Some painting and panel work,
    Cut the guards and fit flexi flares to fit the 37" creepy crawlers
    New Bullbar
    New Tray
    And the list goes on.

Ok for a bit of an update, Bainey has been a bit slack lately but is strating to get his act together!

     The ballast for the new HID headlights that have been installed, these things
     are bloody bright!!

The Windscreen is out, a new one was needed, found rust along alot of the window frame behind the seal, so this needs to be treate dand painted before a new screen is fitted.


Rust  that has been sanded back ready for treatment and paint.


Ok Jordan finally got off his arse and as done more on the ute.

The motor is all back together and is running again, all be it now with a new 100 amp alternator, Reco steering box, new viscous fan, and the Dual battery system is finished with both batteries in and hooked up.

Work on the rust around the window is still going on but not far from being ready to paint and get a new window installed.

Also the bonnet is nearly ready to go back on after having some panel beating and painting done to it.

Rumours have it that Bainey has got himself a sweet Warn Highmount winch to go on the front of the beast when its ready to head bush.
